Who we are

We're athletes with a passion for technology. We were looking for a platform that combines GPS-based tracking and a real outdoor experience – and couldn't find one. So, in 2020, we founded LaceUp.

Still got questions?

How much does an event with LaceUp cost?
The calculation is based on a base fee of CHF 5,000 for up to three routes/checkpoints and a potential additional fee for further routes/checkpoints, badges, and marketing automation emails.

From 1,000 participants per event, we also charge a small surcharge per participant. If you conclude a three-year contract, we grant a discount of 20%.

On request, we can also implement projects completely – including concept, text, graphics, photos, videos, marketing, and website. Check out our own events, e.g., the Tour d'Uetli or Les Cols de Zurich.

Contact us for a non-binding offer.
Can I charge a registration fee?
Yes, that's possible. You can integrate a payment step into the registration flow. Participants can then only register if they have been approved by you.
How does the technical integration work?
The leaderboard, the start list, and the latest activities can easily be integrated into your own website via iFrame. A programming interface is available for complex integrations.

The registration and login process for participants takes place via our portal, which is branded with your logo and background image.

Emails such as registration confirmations and notifications for new badges or stages can be customized in terms of layout and text.
What can I customize?
When integrating on your own website, you use our iFrames with a neutral layout. You can use your own icons for each stage, checkpoint, or badge. In emails, you can customize the logo and text.

With the API integration, you have complete control. We would be happy to advise you and show you various examples.
Where can I run my event?
There are no geographical limits to your event. Since we work without physical infrastructure on site, we can offer events all over the world.
What if a participant has technical problems?
We take care of the technical support: Participants can contact us directly via our support form and we will provide quick and competent assistance, e.g., with flat GPS devices, detours, GPS outliers, etc.
Who owns the data?
The activity data basically belongs to the participating athletes.

As an organizer, you will receive a right of use to the relevant data (e.g. rankings, section times, completed checkpoints, contact details) within the scope of your event, limited in time and purpose. This right of use is exclusively for the execution, evaluation and communication of your event.

Good to know: With Strava Challenges (i.e. without LaceUp), the rights to segment times remain with Strava. Commercial use of this data may violate Strava's terms of use.
The segment times recorded by LaceUp, on the other hand, are our own measurement data and can be freely used legally within the scope of your event.
